Description

Hakone Yosegi-zaiku is a traditional craft of Hakone, Japan: thin strips of naturally coloured woods are glued into geometric mosaic patterns and shaved into veneer. A himitsu-bako (secret puzzle box) only opens when its panels are slid in the right order – the number of "steps" is how many moves it takes. Each box comes with opening instructions. Natural wood, so colours and patterns vary slightly.
