Description
Japanese calligraphy brushes (fude) from the two great brush-making towns: Kumano in Hiroshima and Nara. Large brushes (3–4 go) are for bold characters on standard hanshi paper; small brushes are for names and fine writing; the 7–9 go brushes are for big kakizome and banner work.
Hair is horse, goat (white hair), tanuki or deer, often blended – shown for each brush. We do not sell weasel-hair brushes. Brushes arrive with the stiffening glue in the tip: soak only the part you use in water before first use.
