Description

Your own Japanese seal, made to order by craftsmen in Japan. Hanko (name seals) are used in Japan instead of a signature; rakkan are the artist's seals stamped on calligraphy, ink paintings and woodblock prints. Type your name in the box above (English letters are fine). We will email you the Japanese version – katakana, or kanji chosen for their sound and meaning – and only order the carving after you approve it. Name seals: about 6–8 characters max; rakkan: 1, 2 or 4 characters depending on size, so we usually carve one meaningful kanji or your initial sound. Made to order: ships in about 2 weeks. Because it is personalised, it cannot be returned except for defects.
